Do you ever feel like the secret to cracking the code of new parenthood is getting the scoop from more experienced parents on the baby gear they used—and absolutely can’t live without?

Finding the right products can go a long way in making your life with your new addition a whole lot easier. And parents who’ve been there, done that are often the best resource for figuring out which items to add to your cart and which ones to skip.

That’s why we surveyed thousands of Babylist families and asked them to share the baby gear they love: products they swear by, gear their babies love and the stuff they simply can’t live without. Here’s what they told us.

3-in-1 Sleep Solution

This streamlined sleep solution is a perennial favorite among Babylist parents, and it’s not hard to see why. It’s a nightlight, sound machine and okay-to-wake clock all rolled into one (beautiful) package. You can choose from pre-programmed light and sound settings or customize your own—all controllable right from your phone. It also works as a toddler alarm clock as your baby grows.

Perfect for Hitting the Road

We’re surprised it took this long for this much-loved travel crib to earn a spot on our Best of list. The Guava Lotus is a favorite for families on the go. It’s super lightweight at only 13 pounds, easily portable (it all folds up into a backpack), sturdy and has a comfortable mattress. The crawl-through zipper door gives you easy access to your little one (but also locks off so they can’t escape!) and the mesh sides allow for great airflow and total breathability.

Sick Day Savior

Is the idea behind the NoseFrida sort of gross? Yes. Do parents love it anyway? (Like, really love it?) Also yes. Way better than a traditional nasal bulb, the Snotsucker helps you clear tiny nostrils and makes your baby way more comfortable when they’re feeling under the weather. There are disposable hygienic filters so mucus and germs can’t transfer to you (phew) and the Snotsucker is dishwasher safe for easy cleaning.

The Best Bouncer

You can spend hundreds of dollars on a bouncer, or you can spend about $30 and get this parent favorite that’s just as great. Fisher-Price’s Baby’s Bouncer has been around for years (but has recently been updated with a new design, yay!) and is a comfy, safe and affordable spot for your baby to chill. It gently bounces along with your little one’s natural motions and is light and easy to move around wherever you need it.

Super Shusher

This ingenious baby product is often dubbed as something you never knew you needed but couldn’t live without. It makes rhythmic shushing noises to soothe your baby—and save your voice. It’s portable, affordable and perfect to use in the car seat, stroller, at home or whenever you need to calm down your fussy baby.

Swaddle to Sleep Sack

You’ll want to skip loose blankets in your baby’s crib, especially during the first year, and that’s where this swaddle comes in. It uses Velcro wings to keep your newborn’s arms close and recreate the snug, secure feeling they experienced in the womb. It then transitions into an arms-out sleep sack once they’re a bit older. We love the soft cotton that’s ideal for any temperature and the budget-friendly price so you can stock up.

Colic Stopper

Dr. Brown’s bottles are a longtime favorite for Babylist families, and we couldn’t agree more about just how great they are. Although they do contain a lot of small parts, making them a bit time-consuming to clean, the unique venting systems helps eliminate air bubbles during feeds and prevent colic, spit-up and general fussiness. This starter set comes with five bottles in two sizes and two nipple types.

Grows with Your Family

The UPPAbaby Vista is a top choice for families looking for a convertible stroller. There’s so much to love here: beautiful design, durability, a full recline, an XL storage basket, great maneuverability, a cushy suspension system and more. The V2 comes with a bassinet for the newborn days and can accommodate up to three children with the addition of a second seat and a ride-along board, making it an ideal choice for a growing family.

Functional + Affordable

Durable, easy to set up and under $100: what’s not to love? Graco’s On the Go Playard is perfect for both traveling with your little one or creating a safe spot to put baby when you’re busy doing other things or just need a break. The push-button fold mechanism on this playard makes setup (and takedown) quick and simple.

Safe and Simple Car Seat

There are so many car seats on the market, but Babylist parents come back to the Chicco KeyFit again and again for both safety and ease of installation. The new KeyFit 35 edition has all the same standout features as the KeyFit 30 (easy to install with or without the base, tons of safety features, compatible with many popular strollers and more) with one addition: it now accommodates babies up to 35 pounds and 32 inches. This allows you to keep your little one in the safer rear-facing position for longer.

Keeps Baby Close—and Safe

A bassinet is an ideal way to keep your baby close during sleep while also keeping them safe in their own sleep space. Halo’s Bassinest takes things one step further with this base that tucks under your bed and a 360-degree swivel so you can position the bassinet right over your mattress. The sheer mesh sides help you keep an eye on your baby (and are also great for breathability) and drop down for easy access to your baby for soothing or feeding.

Custom Fit

Another swaddle favorite that snagged lots of Best of votes is the Ollie. While it has Velcro closures like many other swaddles, the Ollie stands out for its open bottom that’s tied off with a sewn-in elastic band right beneath your baby’s feet. It makes it easy to customize the length and means this swaddle will last longer than many others on the market. It even works as a transitional swaddle with one or both arms out. Just be warned: they sell out fast!

Stylish and Sustainable

There are lots of reasons parents love Honest diapers, from their adorable designs to their sustainability. Made from plant-based materials and harvested from sustainably-managed pine and spruce trees, these disposable diapers do a great job drawing wetness away and keeping your baby dry and comfortable. They now feature a wetness indicator (something parents have been asking about for years) and a newborn design with a belly button cutout.

Moves Like You Do

A swing designed to mimic all the ways babies love to be rocked? Genius. And Babylist parents agree. The mamaRoo simulates all the ways babies like to be comforted with five natural motions like the bounce of a parents’ arms or a car ride. There’s also five different speeds, built-in sounds and the ability to hook in your own tunes and control everything via Bluetooth.

Keeps Baby Close

We hear over and over again from parents about how much they love this baby wrap. The universal fit, buttery-soft fabric and ease of being able to keep baby close are just a few of its standout features. There is a bit of a learning curve, but once you get the hang of it we promise it’s the wrap you’ll reach for again and again, especially during those first few months.

Affordable Luxury

A newcomer to our Best of list, the Mockingbird is a pretty unbelievable find: a truly great stroller, packed with luxury features, at a super affordable price point. The modular seat faces you or turns outward, and there’s a one-handed fold and never-flat wheels. Other features to love include a suspension system and maneuverability that counters other much higher-priced strollers, a huge storage basket and tons of style. There’s a Single-to-Double model, too.

Better Diapers at a Better Price

Another debut to this year’s list are Hello Bello disposable diapers. They’re stylish and really absorbent and are made with sensitive skin in mind. They also feature a plant-derived core liner and sustainably harvested fluff pulp but cost way less than other comparable diaper brands, which we love. You can get them a la carte or via a subscription bundle.

A Better Diaper Pail

If you’re going to have to deal with dirty diapers (spoiler alert: you are), you may as well find a diaper pail that makes things a little easier—and a little less stinky. The Diaper Genie is a fave thanks to the foot pedal that allows you to open it even when your hands are full. It’s also designed to lock in odors to keep things a little less smelly.

A Smarter Play Gym

The Play Gym by Lovevery was designed by child development experts—and it shows. There are five “development zones,” each with activities for your little one from the newborn days (things like high-contrast toys and cards, a batting ring and a detachable teether) all the way through to toddlerhood when the gym turns into a tiny fort for older kiddos. There’s also a play guide with research-backed play suggestions for all developmental stages through the first year included. Babylist parents also showed a lot of love for Lovevery’s Play Kits Subscription, a Montessori-inspired toy subscription service that delivers developmentally appropriate toy kits right to your door.

Lounge in Style

Another product to answer the eternal question of, “Where exactly do I put this baby when my arms need a break?” the DockATot is a safe, stylish spot for your baby to chill when you need to get things done or need a break. The raised, rounded outer tube creates a cozy, womb-like pod, and it’s lightweight enough to easily move from room to room. It’s also the perfect spot for tummy time. Keep in mind: most babies will outgrow it after about eight months, and it shouldn’t be used for sleep or in a crib, bassinet, playard or other contained area.

Like a Warm Hug

Think of the Snuggle Me like a warm hug for your newborn, making them feel safe and cocooned. The baby’s weight in the center pulls the bumpers in on all sides, mimicking the feeling of being held. It’s pricey, but lots of Babylist parents swear by it for helping even the fussiest of babies calm down. And like the DockATot, you won’t want to use this lounger for sleep or in a crib or other enclosed space like a playard or bassinet.

Soft and Absorbent

Pampers Swaddlers once again hit our Best of list as a favorite among Babylist parents who are using disposable diapers. They’re super soft, boast a flexible fit (which means less poop explosions) and the newborn size has a contoured umbilical cord notch. There’s also a wetness indicator to let you know when it’s time for a change.

Swing and Soothe

If you’re not up for dropping hundreds of dollars on a swing, don’t worry—tons of Babylist users told us this affordable swing from Graco was one of their favorites. It has a small frame so it won’t take up a ton of floor space as well as six sway speeds, two vibration settings and 15 sound options. Just remember it’s not approved for sleep.

Pure Clean

Babylist parents love these wipes for what’s not in them instead of for what is. Made from 99% water and a drop of fruit extract, Water Wipes are perfect for keeping your little one clean from head to toe. They’re fragrance free and ideal for sensitive new skin.

Soothe and Heal

And speaking of baby skin, there’s pretty much nothing that Aquaphor doesn’t heal. This multipurpose ointment helps protect your baby’s skin from diaper rash and helps to soothe and heal it if they do end up with a rash. It’s also great for chapped skin and cheeks, healing minor cuts and scrapes and lots more.

From Bottle to Breast

There are seemingly endless options when it comes to bottles, but Comotomo’s silicone bottles consistently rise to the top of Babylist parents’ favorites list. They’re made from silicone and have a unique shape and feel that mimics a breast. They work well for babies who [transition between the bottle and the breast](/hello-baby/best-bottles-for-breastfed-babies ‘Best Bottles for Breastfed Babies”) and feature a wide base with minimal parts for fast and easy cleaning.

Hands-Free Pumping

Making its debut on our list is one of the best things to happen to pumping in years: the hands-free pump. The Elvie is silent, completely cordless and slips right into your bra so you can pump anytime, anywhere. The pump has variable suction with seven intensity settings and connects to Evlie’s app to monitor your milk volume in real time and track pumping history. Babylist parents rave about this game changing innovation.

Fun and Practical

Any new parent will tell you that the amount of stuff you’ll be washing (and drying) seems to quadruple the second your baby arrives. This fun, modern drying rack will help keep it all contained—and will also look great in your kitchen. It holds a huge number of bottles, nipples, pump parts and more and allows for air circulation and a tray to catch drips.

Travel-Ready Sleep

Baby sleep on the go can be a challenge, which is why lots of parents told us how much they love and appreciate this travel-ready sound machine. There’s three different white noise settings and it also features a soft nightlight, a flexible clip to attach to just about anything and a travel case for safekeeping.

All Wrapped Up

T-shirt softness and moldability for any body type make the Moby Wrap one of the most comfortable baby carriers out there. It’s one long piece of fabric (so you don’t have to deal with any rings or buckles) that wraps around your entire torso and over your shoulders to create a cozy, kangaroo-like pouch for your baby, leaving your hands totally free. It’s especially good for newborns since it creates such a close snuggle.

Smarter Sleep

Invented by pediatrician Dr. Harvey Karp, the Snoo is one of the smartest bassinets around. It detects baby’s crying and turns on sound and movement that mimic the womb, lulling your baby back to sleep. There’s also an attachable swaddle that keeps baby in a safe position on their back. If the price tag gives you sticker shock, check out the rental option.

Ergonomic Design

This bouncer has earned a longstanding—and well deserved—spot on our best of the best list from Babylist parents. It’s simple, sleek and ergonomic design moves in response to your baby’s movements (no batteries required) and fits seamlessly into any decor. It also folds flat for easy storage and converts to a toddler seat once your baby gets a bit older.

For Faster Formula

Think a machine that mixes formula for you is a little much? Think again. This amazing gadget will save you so much time if you’re giving your baby formula on the regular. It instantly prepares warm formula with the touch of a button and can make up to 20 eight-ounce bottles at a time. It also eliminates air bubbles and gets the formula to just the right temperature.

Simply Brilliant

Babylist parents know a brilliant product when they see one. This squishy silicone pump attaches right to your breast and uses natural suction to collect your milk. You can use it for milk expression or to collect milk from your letdown on one breast while you’re feeding from another. It’s also super compact and travel-friendly.

Designed for Dryness

Parents love Huggies diapers for their affordability and their super absorbent liners that instantly wick away moisture. They keep your little one comfy while also protecting their skin from becoming irritated, which can lead to diaper rash. The newborn size also has an umbilical cord cutout.

Odor Eliminator

This popular diaper pail is a parent favorite and a Babylist bestseller. Made from steel, it helps trap and eliminate odors. It’s also easy to load and clean and uses regular trash bags rather than special inserts. This herringbone pattern is exclusive to Babylist.

Portable Pumping

The rechargeable battery on the Spectra S1 helps make pumping a bit more portable. Pair that with the fact that this is a hospital-grade pump that’s powerful and quiet and it’s easy to see why it tops so many pumping parents’ best-of lists.

Soft and Close

Another favorite wrap is the Boba, a long piece of thick, soft French terry that’s one size fits all and lets you keep baby close in a forward-facing inward position. The material is made from 5% spandex so it keeps its shape and helps the wrap stretch to provide a snug fit for your baby. Just take note that since the fabric is on the thicker side, it’s not ideal for warmer climates.

Sleek and Safe

Since so many Babylist parents are fans of UPPAbaby’s popular Vista stroller, it’s no surprise that the brand’s car seat also snags a spot on our list. The modern design, huge array of safety features and easy compatibility with both UPPA strollers and lots of other brands (with adapters) makes this car seat a go-to for lots of parents. It’s also super easy to install using LATCH connectors and a unique tightness indicator.

So Easy to Fold

There’s a lot to love about this stroller, but the feature that we hear about the most from Babylist parents is its one-handed fold. The City Mini is so easy to open and close in only a few seconds. It’s also an agile, all-wheel suspension stroller that works just as well for city families as it does for those in the ‘burbs. You can create your own travel system using an infant car seat adapter (sold separately) and use the stroller from the newborn days up to 65 pounds.

Features, Price + Performance

This travel system is a bestseller in the Babylist Shop and ranked high on our Best of survey among Babylist parents, likely because of its combination of features, price and performance. The car seat is safe and easy to install, the stroller functions both as a lightweight frame (to carry the infant seat) and a full-featured stroller, and everything comes in at a price that won’t break the bank when compared to lots of other travel systems.

Grows with Baby

We love any baby gear that goes the distance, and it looks like Babylist parents do, too. The multi-stage Explore and More starts as an activity center and transforms into a play zone and finally a toddler-sized table. There are plenty of activities to keep your little one busy and we love the more subtle design as compared to some other similar activity centers.

Versatile and Affordable

Nope, your eyes aren’t playing tricks on you: this carrier really is under $25 and really is totally awesome. With four carry positions and a comfortable fit, the Flip holds its own against other similar carriers that cost hundreds of dollars. Babylist parents rave about its durability, ease of use and comfy fit.

East to Hold, Easy to Find

Tired of replacing dropped pacis or digging through your diaper bag to find one? This pacifier + attached plush is both easy for your little one to grab onto themselves and tough to lose at the bottom of your diaper bag. There are tons of cute animals to choose from too.

A Safe Travel System That Won’t Break the Budget

Babylist parents see the value in this travel system from Evenflo, and they’re spot-on. With six different stroller configurations and a car seat that exceeds industry standards, the Pivot gives you higher-end features at a more affordable price. Looking for a double? Check out the Pivot Xpand.

Organic and Soothing

One hundred percent organic and made with oils, herbal extracts and botanicals, parents rave about this diaper balm for being gentle on baby’s skin while also being really effective against preventing and treating diaper rash. A little goes a long way, so even a small jar will last you quite a while.

For a Warm Bottle, Fast

This straightforward bottle warmer operates exactly as advertised: it warms bottles and baby food quickly and without hotspots. It’s also fairly compact, so it won’t take up a ton of room on your counter. Lots of Babylist parents love to pair it with Phillips Avent’s Natural Glass Bottles.

Splish Splash

This collection includes everything you need for bathtime and beyond, like hair and body wash, an all-over ointment, lotion and bubble bath. Tubby Todd products are made without toxins and other icky ingredients and use fragrances that are made from only natural, aromatic raw materials.

Less Laundry

Cutting down on laundry always sounds good to us. The Keekaroo turns the traditional changing pad on its head, replacing pad covers and liners that constantly need to be tossed in the wash into a non-slip, waterproof and completely wipeable surface where you can change your baby. This one is a favorite among Babylist parents and gear experts alike.

Car Seat + Stroller Hybrid

There’s nothing quite like the Doona—and that’s what’s so great about it. This hybrid product morphs from an infant car seat into a stroller with the click of a button. It’s perfect if you’re looking to cut down on the amount of gear you’re lugging around or if you’re simply looking for a seat that’s easy to get in and out of your vehicle.

Super Supportive

Lots of nursing parents find that support pillows can be really helpful, especially during the beginning months of breastfeeding. The My Brest Friend is loved for its extra support; it’s much firmer than other nursing pillows on the market, helping you to position your baby for a better latch and reduce the strain on you.

Breastfeeding Support and More

Another popular nursing pillow pick is the Boppy. This pillow functions both as a nursing pillow (it’s a bit softer than the My Brest Friend) and as an infant support pillow that can be used for lounging, tummy time and more. Confused on which one is right for you? Check out our head-to-head comparison.

Arms-Up Swaddle

Many babies like to sleep with their arms up, so the designers of the Swaddle UP designed a swaddle that allows them to do just that. This popular swaddle features a sack-like design and an easy zipper that lets your baby self-soothe with their hands by their face while also calming their startle reflex, helping to promote longer stretches of sleep.

Safe and Sleek

Babylist parents love this bestselling seat for a few main reasons. It’s one of the lightest infant seats on the market, weighing in at only eight pounds. It’s also super easy to install, beautifully designed and packed with safety features. If you prefer an even lighter seat, check out Nuna’s Pipa Lite; just keep in mind that it can only be used with a base, not with a seat belt.

Running Buddy

Running parents agree that this is one of the best jogging strollers on the market. Loved for its incredibly shock-absorbent suspension system, adjustable handlebar for users of all different heights, high weight limit and XL storage basket (and lots more) the Bob Revo Flex is perfect for a run around the neighborhood, a walk through a wooded trail or pretty much anywhere else you’d like to take it.
